Youth Philanthropy Council
—Fairfield, Connecticut—
The Youth Philanthropy Council (YPC) in Fairfield County, Connecticut is our newest program addition, and this will be their first year running a TPI program in their community. Sponsored by the Fairfield County Community Foundation, they have high expectations to create a unique version of a youth philanthropy program based on the TPI programming model.
Looking to have a smaller initial cohort, they will run the program through the year with an effort to engage their broader youth population, spanning teens and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24. They hope to be able to find ways to engage a full scope of youth from different backgrounds and experiences in order to more effectively address the issues and challenges facing their local youth. Working closely with TPI staff, dual program coordinators Alli Ganim and Sarah Omotunde are aiming to input a great deal of time and attention into the establishment of their program as they believe the TPI model is the best model to respond to the needs of their youth and empower them to truly make the necessary changes to help the community.
The clarity in their intention to empower their full youth population is a perfect embodiment of TPI core values; addressing current youth and community needs as well as the future youth and community needs through the eyes and hands of those youth is the most beneficial and effective approach. We are just as excited as they are to see this program succeed and can’t wait to see the insights we can gather during the process.
